Brodner's Cartoon du Jour: Warring Factions

August 27, 2008

Warring Factions

On night 1 of the Democratic Convention the cable networks declared the Hillary War on. With nothing else to report on (as they saw it), the loudest voices were not those of Kennedy or Michelle Obama, but the Really Big Story: themselves. "The dangerous situation for Obama is that there are thousands of reporters with nothing better to do than find a PUMA to talk to," said Howard Fineman (to Matthew's face last night). As Jon Stewart would say, "Feed me!!!"
PS: They could have covered the real Denver, and the real American former middle class, as Bill Moyers did on Friday. Very worthwhile.

Oh, please.

Her speech was awesome.

This caricature is how John McCain will look after the first debate, NOT how Hillary Clinton looked Tuesday night.

Hillary sucks but her speech was respectable.

To rehash from the earlier primary campaign: This country does (did) not need another designer brand in the White House—which is all she ever was. Like Donatella Versace taking over for Gianni Versace. Most people had no clue and could not care less. Because they were reacting to a mass brainwashing. Monkey-see, monkey-buy.

Bill Clinton turned out to be a disappointment--only compared with the retarded and corrupt Bush-W, he only seems like a miracle-worker.

Blu: Any comparison with Ralph is beyond my dreams but gratefully received.
Tim: This is Matthews not HRC. I have to say the speech was her finest moment. A successful convention so far, I think.
